Common complaints in general practice

As your first point of contact for general medical care, we carefully assess your symptoms and provide clear advice on the next steps to take.

Acute symptoms

For example, in cases of infection, fever, pain, dizziness or sudden weakness. We take a systematic approach to determining the possible causes, ruling out potential issues, and deciding which diagnostic tests or treatments are appropriate at this stage.

Recurring or unclear symptoms

If something keeps recurring or is difficult to diagnose, we take a step-by-step approach. We take into account the history of your condition, possible triggers, previous findings and your daily routine, so that we can ultimately arrive at a clear diagnosis and a clear plan.

Chronic symptoms and regular check-ups

For long-term conditions, we provide ongoing support. Regular check-ups, adjustments where necessary, and clear, straightforward communication help to create stability and identify any changes at an early stage.

Respiratory and physical symptoms

If you have a persistent cough, respiratory problems or a decline in performance, we will carry out a targeted assessment to identify the possible causes and explain clearly what the next appropriate medical steps are.

Care and Prevention

If you’d like to keep a close eye on your health, we offer check-ups, advice on vaccinations and a structured preventive care plan tailored to your circumstances.

Certificates and examinations

If you need medical certificates, statements or specific tests, we will explain clearly what is required and let you know in advance which documents are useful.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can I get an appointment?

We do our best to arrange appointments at short notice, depending on our availability and the urgency of the case. Once we have received your enquiry, we will get back to you promptly with suggested appointment times or a brief follow-up if we need further information beforehand. If you are experiencing acute symptoms, please let us know straight away how long you have had them and how severe they are, so that we can prioritise your case appropriately.

What should I bring to the appointment?

It is helpful to provide any previous medical records and doctors’ letters (digital copies are also welcome), a current list of medications including dosages, relevant laboratory results, and your vaccination record. If you have specific symptoms, a brief description of these will be helpful. This will enable us to assess more quickly during your appointment which tests are appropriate and how to proceed.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes. If you are unable to visit the surgery, a home visit can be arranged through the private medical emergency service in the Rhine-Main area. We will briefly discuss your concerns over the phone and provide initial advice on what you can do until we arrive. Depending on the situation, mobile examinations may also be possible.

Can I contact you if I have acute symptoms?

Yes. If you have acute symptoms, please contact us; we will provide you with a quick initial assessment and advise you on the best course of action. If necessary, treatment can also be provided through the private medical emergency service.

What should you do if you experience life-threatening symptoms?

If you experience life-threatening symptoms such as severe breathing difficulties, chest pain that is rapidly getting worse, signs of paralysis or loss of consciousness, please call 112 immediately. For urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, our private medical emergency service is available.

Who is a private practice suitable for?

Our services are aimed at privately insured patients, patients covered by the civil service health scheme, those with supplementary insurance, and self-paying patients. If you are unsure whether and to what extent your insurance will cover the costs, we will provide you with clear guidance on the process in advance.

What happens at the first appointment?

We begin with a structured discussion about your symptoms, medical history and existing test results. This is followed by a physical examination and, where appropriate, diagnostic tests carried out in the surgery. Finally, you will receive a clear explanation of your condition, specific recommendations and a clear plan for the next steps, including follow-up appointments where medically necessary.

Check your health early on

Many health concerns can be resolved quickly and reliably through a timely medical consultation. We offer personalised advice in a transparent manner, without any time pressure.
